DARK TURNS TO LIGHT
Elopements are honestly the best. This was my first real one and to say I am obsessed is an understatement.
K + T are hikers. They love grand views and adventure. They got engaged at their fave spot at top of The Crack in Killarney and they wanted to be at their fave spot for their wedding, but this time, at sunrise.
So we did just that. K, T, the officiant, @meganglovermedia and I met in the parking lot of The Crack at 3:45am. We did most of the hike up in the dark with just our headlamps leading us. We got to the top just as the sky was turning into that crisp morning blue. K + T had their dress, suit and small bit of florals packed in their hiking bags and got ready when we got up there.
Just after they said they sweet, mushy vows, sealing it with a kiss, the most epic sunrise peaked up from over the rolling hills. It was the most gorgeous, colourful sunrise I’ve ever seen! Truly worth the 4km trek up in the dark.
After some golden hour captures, we gathered around a pot of campfire coffee and shared some pb&j’s. Megan and I were the only ones invited to this beautiful event so we got to sign the papers as witnesses.
We climbed back down, had some brunch and then headed to the lake for a couple more photos of K + T canoeing around.
They have a big party planned in January to celebrate this milestone with all their fave people but they were really determined to spend their wedding day doing something they love together.
This is your reminder to plan your day how you want to remember it! Don’t let the opinions of family and friends persuade you into having a day you won’t enjoy. Plan something unique to who you are as a couple even if that means scrapping the traditional shtuff. I promise you won’t regret it. If you ever need help/inspiration on planning a unique day like this, I’d love to chat more ☺️
